I am not insane, I am angry. I killed because people like me are mistreated every day. I did this to show society, push us and we will push back. All throughout my life, I was ridiculed, always beaten, always hated. Can you, society, truly blame me for what I do?
~ Luke Woodham, trying to justify his actions in committing a school shooting.

People who aren't really evil or vile, but commit the acts they do in an attempt to assert themselves. They are very similar to tragic villains but the main characteristic of these villains is that they are lying in many ways both to themselves and others.

Most of the time their actions are due to severe pain suffered from some tragic reason, and it is usually the case that they just need a friend or loved one, or sometimes acceptance.
